Mr. Ahmed Salih holds a Master of Tourism from University of Otago, New Zealand and Postgraduate Diploma in Tourism from University of Otago, New Zealand and Bachelor of Business – Tourism Management from The University of Queensland, Australia.Prior to becoming the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture in 2008, Mr. Ahmed Salih has served in the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture at many different positions such as Director 2005-2006, Deputy Director 2003-2005, Assistant Director 2002-1999, Senior Planning Officer 1995-1997, Planning Officer 1991-1992, Assistant Registration Officer 1988-1991, Assistant Public Relations Officer May 1987-Oct 1987, Public Relations Officer (Trainee) 1986-1987 and Assistant Administrative Officer 1985-1986.He currently is also a Member of the Advisory Committee of the Civil Service Commission of the Government of Maldives.

Mr Yusuf Riza

Mr. Yusuf Riza has a Master of Tourism with Distinction from the University of Otago, Graduate Diploma in Tourism with Distinction from University of Otago and a Bachelor of Economics, Flinders University of South Australia.Mr. Riza joined the then public service in May 1991. Since then he has filled various positions in government ministry’s looking after sectors such as tourism, labor and trade before being appointed as the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Development in May 2008.Prior to the assuming the job of Permanent Secretary, Mr. Riza was the Director General, in charge of Foreign Investment Services Bureau, the government agency entrusted with the mandate of promoting and regulating foreign investments into the Maldives.Mr. Riza had appointments in other key economic sectors such as tourism where he was Head of tourism planning at the Ministry of Tourism from 1999-2001.Mr. Riza has served is several corporate Boards in government and public limited companies, such as Chairman, Hulhumale Integrated Zone Ltd, Chairman, GulhiFalhu Industrial Zone Ltd., Board Director, Hulhumale Development Corporation and Board Director, Maldives Tourism Development Corporation PLC.

Mr Mohamed Didi

Mr Mohamed Didi holds a Masters in Population Studies from University of the Philippines and Bachelor of Arts and Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary) from University of South Australia.Mr Didi joined the government service in 1987, as a teacher. He remained in the Maldives College of Higher Education until April 2005. He joined Ministry of Atolls Administration as a Deputy Director and in 2005 November, he was appointed as Atoll Chief of Haa Dhaalu Atoll.Three years later in 2008, Mr. Didi became a Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development and later appointed as the Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Islamic Affairs. On account of his academic background, he takes a keen interest in professional development, especially staff development for government and private institutions.

Mr. Mohamed Mahid Shareef holds an Executive Masters in Sport Organization Management (MEMOS), Masters in Public Sector Management, Bachelor of Engineering (Information & Electronics), Diploma is Sports Management, Diploma on Business Management / Administration and Diploma on Accounting in Business and Management.Mr. Mohamed Mahid Shareef has been working in the government since 1983 holding various important positions such, Assistant Executive Director of Ministry of Youth and Sports, Director of Regional Airports, Ministry of Transport and Communication, Deputy Director, Regional Airports, Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, Senior Engineer, Projects and Planning Services Section, Maldives Airports Authority and Engineer, Regional Airports, Ministry of Transport and Communication.In addition, he is also the Director General of South Asian Regional Anti-Doping Organization (SA-RADO), Vice President of South Asian Body Building and Fitness Federation, Secretary General / Director General of Maldives National Anti-Doping Association (MANADA), Member of Sport and Environment Committee, Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), School Board Member of Jamaaluddeen Primary School, Male’ and Chief Judge of Haveeru Sports Awards.

Mr Ahmed Shaan Mansoor

Mr. Ahmed Shaan Mansoor, an MBA graduate, also holds a Master of Science degree in the telecommunications field and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the University of London. Mr. Shaan has received various academic and professional awards of recognition. His achievements include, best O level results from Majeediyya in 1984, he was selected as the best all-round student of the school that year. He was also the Head Prefect of Majeediyya during his final year at the school. He was awarded best all-round student at Science Education Centre (presently CHSE) in the year 1986. In the London GCE A level exams of January 1987, Shaan obtained the best results, which enabled him to receive the Presidential Award. Mr. Shaan was appointed as the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Defense and National Security on 04 April 2012. He began his career in December 1993 in Dhiraagu. In the thirteen and a half years of his services in Dhiraagu, Mr. Shaan managed several departments including Information Systems, Billing, Credit Control, Fraud and Revenue Assurance and Southern Operations. He also served various key roles in the national network rollout project that installed at least one telephone in every inhabited island of the country.. Mr.Shaan also worked in Wataniya for two and a half years.

Ms Sultana Shakir

Ms. Sultana Shakir began her career as a junior officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2000, and has worked her way up competently through the Foreign Service ranks, acquiring extensive knowledge and experience on various issues relating to both bilateral and multilateral matters.After leaving the Foreign Service, Sultana joined the Elections Commission of the Maldives in 2009, where she made substantial contributions to the organizational development, and promoted active engagements between the Commission and regional and international election management bodies.Sultana also served as the Deputy Minister of Defence and National Security of the Maldives in 2011. During her brief tenure, Sultana played a pivotal role to restructure and transform the Ministry into a dynamic and proactive organization.Sultana was appointed as the Permanent Secretary of the Attorney General’s Office in June 2012.Sultana graduated from University of Waikato, New Zealand, with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History, and obtained her Masters’ degree in the field of public policy from University of Malaya, Malaysia.

Dr Abdul Muhsin Mohamed

Dr Abdul Muhsin Mohamed graduated from King Abdul Aziz University, Saudi Arabia with a Bachelor of Science in Physics in the year 1987. He completed his Doctor of Philosophy in 1995 at the University of Waikato, New Zealand.Dr Abdul Muhsin Mohamed has served the Government of Maldives for 22 years after his first degree. He worked as a Physics Teacher at Aminiya School, Science Supervisor at Science Education Centre, Principal of Majeediyya School, Director General of the Educational Development Centre, Executive Director of the Department of Higher Education and Training, Deputy Minister of Education and the Vice Chair of the first Civil Service Commission of the Maldives.Prior to his appointment as the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, he was working as the Chief Executive Officer of the Maldives Qualifications Authority.

Mr. Ajwad Musthafa

Mr. Ajwad Musthafa joined the public service in 2005 at the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Water as an Assistant Director. He was immediately assigned as the Head of Energy Department where he played a leading role in managing the energy sector of the country. For his dedication and strong leadership he was promoted to a level of Deputy Director in 2006. He was also appointed to the Governing Board of Maldives Energy Authority by the President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom.In 2010 Mr. Ajwad was transferred to the Maldives Energy Authority with the specific task to strengthen the regulatory institution. He spearheaded a full-fledged campaign to rebrand the Authority and managed to develop a comprehensive regulatory framework for Maldives energy sector. In recognition for his work, in June 2010, he was appointed as the Director General (zinmaadhaaru veriyaa) of the Maldives Energy Authority, with the overall responsibility of managing the regulatory Authority. Mr. Ajwad was appointed to the Governing Board of Maldives Energy Authority by President Dr. Waheed Hassan.In his job both at the Ministry and in Maldives Energy Authority, he has travelled extensively to represent Maldives in major high profile international events. He has also attended numerous trainings in different countries in renewable energy development, energy efficiency, climate change mitigation and adaptation.In addition to his public service in Maldives, Mr. Ajwad has more than 3 years of work experience in an international firm in the United Kingdom. Mr. Ajwad is also a well-established computer software programmer, and has been developing commercial software’s, since 1995.Mr. Ajwad graduated from University of Lincoln, United Kingdom, with a bachelor’s degree in International Business Administration, and obtained his Masters’ degree in the field of Energy Economics and policy from University of Surrey, United Kingdom.

Mr Ismail Ali Manik

Mr. Ismail Ali Manik worked as an advisor to Finance Minister before taking the position of Permanent Secretary. He did his graduate studies at Columbia University, New York in Economic Policy and completed undergraduate studies at University of Adelaide in Economics.Ismail has worked in the World Bank and World Bank Institute, Washington DC. He joined the government in 1993 to the Planning Ministry and to Ministry of Finance in 1995. Since then he has worked in the Ministry of Finance and Treasury in various capacities in Public Finance and National Budget .He has been a board member of the Tender Evaluation Board, and is currently the Chairman of Housing Development Finance Corporation Plc. He is also currently the Alternative Governor to World Bank Group.

Ms. Shiruzimath Sameer has a Masters of Social Science (Diplomacy) from the National University of Malaysia in collaboration with the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in International Business from the HELP University Malaysia. Ms. Shiruzimath joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2007 and has filled various positions; she made substantial contribution to the Human Resource and Training Division and played an active role in Human Resource Management Development Committee. Prior to the appointment of Permanent Secretary Ms. Shiruzimath was the Director General in charge of the Corporate Affairs Department. Ms. Shiruzimath has gained knowledge and experience in the field of bilateral and multilateral as well as management during her tenure at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Mr. Ibrahim Hameed

Mr. Ibrahim Hameed holds a Master of Business Administration, major in strategy from Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand and as well as Bachelor’s Degree in Business administration from Binary University of Malaysia. Prior to becoming the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Home Affairs in 2015, Mr. Ibrahim Hameed has served in the Ministry of Home Affairs an Assistant Director 2009-2015. Furthermore, Mr. Ibrahim Hameed had served in the Ministry of Atolls Administration as well as Atolls Development at many different positions such as project officer trainee 1992-1994, Assistant project officer 1994-1999, Project Officer Grade 1 1999-2005, and as a regional development project director (ADB) from 2005-2006, Tsunami shelter recovery project, Regional shelter supervisor (UNDP). Mr. Ibrahim Hameed is a keen learner interested in doing lot of research work related to community development and community empowerment.

Mr. Hussain Sinan

Mr. Hussain Sinan obtained his Masters in Business Administration from Open University Malaysia, Malaysia. Received his Bachelors Degree in Marketing and Management from Edith Cowan University, Australia. And completed his Diploma in Management in Perth Institute of Business and Technology, Australia.

Started his career in STO plc in the year 1995 as an Officer Trainee in Administration Department and climbed the corporate ladder and became a Manager in the year 2010. During the course of the 20 years he has worked in Administration, STO Home Improvement, Construction Materials, Supermart, Logistics and Administration & HR Department. On December 2013, he was appointed as Manager of Administration and Human Resource Department and was assigned to oversee the repair and maintenance of all the STO Buildings nationwide.

He is a visiting lecturer at Focus Education Center and has conducted several in-house training programs in STO as well.
